Hsu-Chen Su
Hsu-Chen Su was born in Taipei, Taiwan. She was runner-up in the 1992 Young Pianists Competition in Taiwan. From 2004 to 2010 she studied piano with Prof. Arne Torger and chamber music with Prof. Ulrich Beetz at the Liszt School of Music in Weimar, where she received her diploma. In 2006, she gave a solo piano concert at the piano manufacturer Steingraeber & Söhne in Bayreuth. In 2012 she passed her Masters with distinction in song composition under Prof. Mitsuko Shirai and Prof. Hartmut Höll at the Karlsruhe University of Music. Su was a 2013 fellow of the Arts Foundation of Baden-Württemberg. She has attended master classes with Prof. Brigitte Fassbaender, Bernard Ringeissen, Prof. Volkmar Lehmann, Prof. Jörg Widmann, and Prof. Wolfgang Rihm. Since 2012, she has been studying for her soloist exams in Prof. Mitsuko Shirai’s and Prof. Hartmut Höll’s lied course at the Karlsruhe University of Music. She is currently studying as an Erasmus foreign exchange student with Prof. Anne Le Bozec at the ‘Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris’ (Paris Conservatory).
