Further Information
WIKA (Wissenschaftlicher Intitiativkreis Kultur und Außenpolitik) was founded by ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen) in 2004. It addresses theoretical and practical issues of international cultural exchange. Its aim is to conduct scientific research on the international relational structure of Germany's foreign cultural and educational policy, to develop concepts and create a stronger integration of the topic into science and research.
Since 2013 Prof. Dr. Caroline Robertson-von Trotha has been the chairwoman of WIKA.
WIKA forms an interdisciplinary network of academics, university lecturers and students as well as representatives of academic institutions and persons who are active in the fields of politics, art, culture and media.
Scholars, students or private persons as well as institutes, research facilities, thinktanks, intermediary organisations and other academic institutions which in theory and/or in practice address issues from the domain of foreign cultural and educational policy can become members of WIKA.
