Aleksandra Manic
Musician (violin)
Aleksandra Manic was born in Bor, Serbia. When she was just ten years old, she attended a boarding school for gifted students and won first prizes for outstanding solo and chamber music performances. Manic came to Germany in 2008, where she continued her education as a junior student at the University of Music Karlsruhe. She went on to receive many national and international prizes and scholarships. Numerous master classes with renowned violinists such as Ulf Hoelscher, Carolin Widmann, Nicolas Chumachenco, and Ana Chumachenco have added to her artistic development. Since the 2012/2013 winter semester, Manic has been studying at the University of Music Karlsruhe in Prof. Elina Vähälä’s class. Manic is playing a violin made by Januarius Gagliano in the year 1764, which the Landessammlung Baden-Württemberg has made available. Manic currently plays the principal second violin in the Badische Staatskapelle (the Baden State Orchestra).
