Lorenzo Pezzani was born in Trento, Italy in 1982. In 2004/2005 Pezzani joined the Erasmus programme and joined ,École d’architecture de la ville et des territoires à Marne-la-Vallée’ in Paris. In summer of 2008 he took part in WISH (Workshop on International Social Housing) in China. He earned his first Master’s degree in architecture in 2007 from the University of Lugano in Switzerland and his second Master’s degree with distinction in research architecture in 2009 from Goldsmiths, the University of London in the United Kingdom.
Since September 2009, he has been working on his PhD at Goldsmiths, University of London (UK) under the supervision of Professor Eyal Weizman.
From 2002 to 2003, he interned at Zvi Hecker Architekturbüro and Pitz & Hoh Werkstatt für Architektur und Denkmalpflege in Berlin. From 2005 to 2007, he worked as an architect freelancer. In 2007 and 2008, he was an Assistant curator for Manifesta 7, the European Biennial of Contemporary Art in Rovereto, Italy. From 2010 to 2011, he worked as an editorial assistant at Verso books (the largest independent publishing house in the English-speaking world).
Since September 2010, he has been a tutor and a PhD Coordinator at the Centre for Research Architecture at Goldsmiths, University of London. Since September 2012, he has been tutoring the course “History and Theory, MArch Urban Design” at Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL, London).
